Before Trump and Biden, Ronald Reagan, inaugurated at age 69, held that distinction. Below is a list of the presidents ranked by their ages—youngest to oldest—when they took office.
    If multiple presidents took office at the same age, the tie breaker is age in years plus days at the time they became president. For example, Barack Obama and Grover Cleveland both were inaugurated at 47. But Obama’s precise age was 47 years, 169 days, while Cleveland’s was 47 years, 351 days, making Obama the younger at inauguration.
    Another note about Cleveland, who served two nonconsecutive terms: He is in this ranking just once, using only his first-term age. Biden pushes average age for new presidents up from 55 to 55½.
