IMAX FILM TO EXPLORE EARTH’S CHANGE: A Beautiful Planet, an Imax film focusing on the effects of humans on Earth, will open this week at the Smithsonian.
The documentary, by director Toni Myers, was made in cooperation with NASA and is narrated by Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence. It will open April 29 at the Lockheed Martin Imax Theater at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington and at the Airbus IMAX Theater at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
The film uses footage captured by astronauts aboard the International Space Station, according to a Smithsonian news release. Tickets are available at the Lockheed Martin Imax Theater box office and the Airbus Imax Theater box office or online.
The Lockheed Martin Theater is on the main floor of the National Air and Space Museum building on the National Mall, which is at Sixth Street and Independence Avenue SW. The Airbus Imax Theater is on the second floor of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at 14390 Air and Space Museum Parkway in Chantilly.
