On Sunday, thousands of motorcyclists roared through the streets of Washington, D.C., for perhaps the final ride of Rolling Thunder, an annual Memorial Day event.
The ride, held in Washington for the past 32 years, was sponsored by Rolling Thunder Inc., a nonprofit formed by veterans to draw attention to comrades missing in action. While President Donald Trump recently tweeted that the ride would return to D.C. next year, the
organization's website reported that the logistics of the massive event have proven challenging and the staging cost is exorbitant -- $200,000. Even so, the organization has multiple chapters which may plan local events. This time next year, the thunder may roll into towns and cities across the nation. Here are photos from the event:
